Architects and the Society

Architects and the Society Who are Architects? How does the society view the Architects? We as Architect what is our responsibility to the society? All these and much more will be shared; your contribution will be appreciated. A building project can only be successful through proper communication and coordination between the Architect, Client and Builder. Who are Architects? Architects are trained to offer a level of professional services and expertise to clients, which no other profession can provide. Architects work under serious legal regulations that bound them to their profession. In building projects the role of the Architect is to coordinate a team of specialist consultants such as builders, quantity surveyors, landscape architects, engineers, interior designers and subcontractors. Architects have been trained to advise you on all area of the building process including: • Designing and planning • Undertaking a feasibility study • Managing the building budget • Managing the construction process and team • Landscaping the external surroundings • Designing the interior • Selecting the right material • Maintaining the building Some months ago I came across a client that just wanted a design for a building. The client never knew he has a lot of benefit to get from the Architect, he thought he was only paying for the designs. As a client you stand to benefit the above mentioned advice.
